In Season One of 2 Broads and a Bottle of Wine, join Kelly and Lesley as they talk through observations on Bellydance, Life, and Social Justice. Each week, they will discuss an aspect of Bellydance in North America and review harms done and ideas on how to move forward.

Mission: Kelly and Lesley are two Gen-Xers who are fumbling forward on the journey of Self-discovery. Their hope is that by telling their stories and modeling the behavior of fumbling forward this will inspire/help others who are on a similar journey.

Episode 15: The Light Topic of Grief - Part 2



In this episode, Kelly and Lesley return to the light topic of grief to discuss the homework they did on the subject and how to address grief when others are grieving. There's fun rabbit holes too, in regards to societal constructs and expectations.

Episode 14: The Light Topic of Physical Safety



In this episode, Lesley and Kelly talk about the many rabbit holes regarding the issues of safety: physical safety, rape culture, harm reduction and how dominant culture shapes this.

Episode 13: Gender

Episode 12: Autonomy



Kelly and Lesley define and discuss the topic of autonomy. This was a huge rabbit hole! At first glance, folks will think immediately to birth rights, the right to have a baby or the right to not. But this goes quite vast. Hugs without consent as a child was something we both encountered but diving into this topic there's so much more and learn.

Episode 5: Got Privilege?

Episode 4: Community Playground

Lesley and Kelly take on Capitalism and consumerism. We can buy our way to happiness, right??? Maybe not-so-much. They share personal stories and their observations around the pitfalls of capitalism and consumerism and how to defrag the programs we all run. They also explore the effects that capitalism and consumerism have on the community.
